Hollywood Reporter Tops National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards With 43 Noms

Three of THR's stories have been nominated for best news story in the print (newspaper or magazines) category: Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group, was nominated for " Anne Sweeney Shocker: Why I'm Leaving Disney "; Baum for " No Animals http://georgianae.soup.io Were Harmed "; and contributing writer Scott Johnson for " How Sarah Jones Lost Her Life ." Gardner, along with executive editor Matthew Belloni, also has been nominated for best business story (any media platform) for " Sumner Redstone Legal Turmoil: Fighting Women, Lie-Detector Tests, Stolen Laptop With 'Private' Photos ." In the best obituary category (any media platform), senior editor Mike Barnes, THR.com deputy news director Erik Hayden, THR.com staff editor Hilary Lewis and Debbie Emery were nominated for " Philip Seymour Hoffman Dead at 46 ." Meanwhile, senior writer Seth Abramovitch and Galloway will Kim Kardashian vie for best personality profile (print), for the Ellen Page feature " You Have No Idea How Hard That Moment Is " and " Pat Kingsley, On the Record ," respectively. Contributing editor Michael Walker earned a nomination for best feature (industry) over 1,000 words for " Why Hollywood People Never Say 'No,' " while Abramovitch was cited for best feature (celebrity) over 1,000 words for " Lou Pearlman: The Prison Interview. " He will vie with film reporter Tim Appelo and Baum for the Dana Giacchetto profile " A Bacchanalian Orgy for 10 Years" and Johnson for " The Final Days of an Oscar Winner, " about Searching for Sugar Man director Malik Bendjelloul. The latter story also earned Min a nomination for best headline: " Oscar to Suicide in One Year. " Senior editor Alex Ben Block was cited in the feature under 1,000 words category for " A Filmmaker's Prison Nightmare Over Tax Credits " as was Walker for " Armored Cars of the Stars ." Three of THR's critics will vie for honors for their bodies of work. Chief film critic Todd McCarthy will vie for best print critic; chief TV critic Tim Goodman was cited as a best print columnist finalist; and film and theater critic David Rooney was nominated for best critic, online. Masters also was nominated in the best personality profile (radio) category for her work for KCRW for "Kevin Spacey: The Disruptor. " THR also scored a slew of noms in the online categories. Senior TV writer Lesley Goldberg was nominated for best news (general) for " Sandra Oh to Exit 'Grey's Anatomy' (Exclusive) " as well as for best news (celebrity-oriented) for " 'Glee' Star Cory Monteith Dies at 31 ." Feinberg also was nominated for best personality profile for " Tonys: 'After Midnight' Producer's Journey Leads Back to Radio City Music Hall ." He also will vie for best online feature for " Getting to Know Two Extraordinary Members of the Academy Who Never Miss a Film " along with THR.com deputy editor Kimberly Nordyke for " Why TV Networks Are Buzzing Over 'Social Experiments.' " In the photography categories, THR scored two noms for best non-portrait: photo and video director Jennifer Laski, photo editor Michelle Stark, senior film writer Borys Kit and photographer Noah Webb for " Inside WB's Chamber of Secrets " and deputy photo editor Carrie Smith, Laski, Walker and photographer Kevin J.
